Living an Inspired Life

Last month I facilitated the “Living Beyond Belief” weekend retreat with yoga, meditation, art, journaling, drumming, and dance. I partnered with five talented women to make this happen, and the result was MAGIC! Some of you may have read my blog post from the day after (click here to read it), but I want to share more, as we had a reunion last night and there’s more to share!

As they walked into the YogaMotion space, one-by-one, I could physically see the joy and excitement in their faces and bodies. It’s like their bodies were emanating the joy inside toward the outside and out into the room! We were coming back together to enjoy each other’s company, reconnect, and create the sacred space we encountered over the weekend. It didn’t take much effort. As we each sat down, there was a lot to say and share.

I asked, “What has shifted in you since the retreat or what have you noticed that is different in your life since then?” One enthusiastic response was, “I see myself as a complete person now, living from my true nature, instead of defining myself as cancer.” Another woman said with a smile, “I didn’t know I could do art, or write, or drum or dance. Now I know I can, and I am sharing creating art with my Mother-in-Law!” A third person said with excitement, “I am motivated to clean out my house – everything! I’ve been going through the closets, and I’ll be cleaning out the garage next, it’s so great!” And yet another response, “At the start of the retreat my back was hunched over, like I was developing a hump, and now I have flexibility and movement in my upper back, things are moving!” She also went on to read us an article about the retreat she wrote for a local paper to encourage other Mom’s to take care of themselves.

These statements are words of inspiration. They are people who’s fire, or light, inside has been lit up. They are motivated to stretch their comfort zone, see their true identity, connect with family in different ways, and inspire others to do the same! It happens when we take care of ourselves, we connect deeply with others, we do things that ignite our inner flame, we stretch out of our routine, and we find magic in our daily lives.

According to Webster’s dictionary, inspired is defined as: “aroused, animated, or imbued with the spirit to do something, by or as if by supernatural or divine influence.” We are moved to do something by a force outside of the definition of materialism, as if something else is moving through us. I have experienced this first hand in creating this business. It wasn’t something that I created by sitting down at a table and writing ideas down, it was something that literally “came through me,” as if something greater than myself was creating it. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t experienced it!

This is possible for all of us. When we are in alignment with our mind, body, heart, and spirit amazing things happen, MAGIC happens. And not the hocus pocus magic, but the magic of the unexplainable life force that moves us to do something for others, and for ourselves that is in alignment with our higher purpose. You have this magic in you, it’s a matter of connecting with yourself and others in ways that you did not know were possible. It is a true connection from your heart and soul that surrender’s to that which is unexplainable.

My heart sings with their joy, and we have planned to make it a monthly ritual – to come together to inspire and be inspired to create and live our higher purpose. WOW!
