It’s time folks. It’s time to create some intention for 2013. Not just any intention, but the BIG MAMA intention. The kind of intention that ROCKS YOUR WORLD.
The kind that causes you to take action you wouldn’t have last year. The kind that brings butterflies swirling around in your stomach – even in formation. THAT is the kind of intention I’m talkin’ about.
It starts with one simple word. Not a word that I create or come up with for you, but one that resonates and speaks to YOU. A word that represents for you what you want to go for in the next YEAR – that’s bigger than the day, the week, or the month. For an entire YEAR.
I can’t take credit for this idea – this comes from a business coach – Christine Kane, who heard the idea from someone else, and has developed it to a high level. I’m here to pass on the great juju of this idea so that YOU can be all that you are meant to be in the world.
Let’s get started.
You’ll need some paper, a pen or pencil, and for extra credit, some coloring supplies (this is the really FUN part!).
Don’t stop reading now cause you don’t want to take the time. TAKE THE TIME TO DO THIS.
Why? Because it’s really powerful. Last year my word was MANIFEST. I wanted to manifest myself and my business to really get off the ground, reach more people, and have an impact in the world.
As I looked at this word on my wall after two months of my business going nowhere, it reminded me I needed to take action for something to manifest, so that word alone caused me to sign up for a five month business course.
Then that word gave me the courage to hire a personal business coach. Now I have a business that supports me and I’m reaching more people – all because of one word. That’s the power one word has.
Do the exercise below so you can take action in 2013 to create what you desire in your life.
Write down what your intentions are for 2013. Is it to make more money? Is it to create internal happiness? Is it start a business? Or perhaps have deeper connections? Tap into what your intentions are first.
From these intentions, explore a word that represents your greatest intention. It’s a word that makes you a little nervous (means you’re stretching your comfort zone), and excited. It really CLICKS for you inside, in that intuitive place where you just KNOW it’s right – where you get that YES feeling inside. Here’s some ideas:
Now answer these questions in your journal:
- Why is this the perfect word for you this year?
- What are five actions steps you can take to create this word in your life?
- What are your personal obstacles that could hold you back from acting on this word? (this could be beliefs, fears, or old destructive habits)
- How can you overcome these obstacles to living your word?
- If you were to hit a “home run” with this word one year from now, how would your life be different?
Finally, get out those coloring supplies (crayons, pencils, watercolors, or paints – I highly recommend glitter glue), and draw your word on an 8.5 x 11 size paper or bigger. Put on some music that you love and have fun with this part!
Put it on your wall or ceiling where you can see it every day. No joke – cultivate your intention – it WORKS.
