I’m often asked, “How do you do it?”
“IT” can mean: how I work from other countries, travel, or have such incredible health. The latest being, “Your skin looks so great for the amount of time you spend outdoors, how do you do it?”
I’m going to give you a little back story on the travel thing first before I answer these questions in order for you to have the whole picture, and finish the article with how I do it with my health.
3 years ago I had a sense something needed to change, I didn’t know what, but I was getting an itch, a calling for something to change. At first, I thought I needed to move to a different house in town, then it was I needed to move from Montana, then I realized I needed to travel again (I’d taken a 5 year hiatus to heal my body).
I was scared. It had been a long time. Different money, different language, different environment. But the calling to go was greater than the fear, so I went. And it was magical. Everything I could dream of and more.
My heart split wide open meeting all the kind and generous people I did last year in Costa Rica. My brain was stretched learning Spanish, and how to get around. It was just what I needed. The warmth was a great added touch too.
I got clear that I wanted to be able to work from anywhere. I absolutely LOVE my work, it’s my soul’s calling, and I wasn’t about to give it up.
I also didn’t let beliefs stop me, like “I shouldn’t spend the money on travel,” “I have responsibilities in Montana,” “People aren’t going to want to be coached over the phone,” or “I have an office I don’t want to give up.”
None of those statements are intuition. Intuition speaks from the heart and in quiet whispers in the mind.
I kept hearing, “GO, GO, GO.” and “DO IT” and “YES” when I got still.
Now that I’m traveling and working from where I’d like, I can honestly say it fills my soul. I get to go on a beautiful mountain bike ride in the morning (pictured above), have incredible client calls throughout the day and celebrate their changes with them, and head to the beach at sunset for a swim and prayer, while learning Spanish.
I recently got an email from someone saying she’s locked in fear about moving, even though she wants to, so she doesn’t do anything and stays put.
My response to her was: you can take small steps like check out different places before you fully commit to something. It doesn’t have to be a big leap, but small ones while you build your courage for a bigger change.
I’ve met so many Americans who have chosen to live in Costa Rica, some with kids and spouses, some single parents, some single, some as couples. Whatever your situation is, there is a way if doing something like this calls to you.
There are international schools for the kids, teaching positions, travel positions and more.
A friend of mine who does computer programming work, asked to work abroad in Europe for 2 months and her company said yes.
Another friend doing marketing work asked for 6 weeks to go to Costa Rica to surf while working for her company remotely. Her company said yes. Her husband went along as her support (lucky guy!).
If there’s a will, there’s a way. I know this to be true.
It’s your responsibility to come up with the vision – what you want. It’s also your responsibility to let go of the how and let quantum physics, God, Source, Divine, etc. take over. Take the time and energy to create the vision, combine it with a belief that it will happen, and it will.
So how do I do it with my health?
It’s all encompassing with the foods I eat, daily exercise, and most importantly, the neuroplasticity rewiring practice that sends the growth and repair chemicals through my body every day and keeps my mindset on track for optimal health.
It’s all drug free, with the only supplement i take being 500 mg Vitamin C a day. That’s it. nothing else.
I’ve discovered that food intake is part of it, and exercise is part of it, but the mindset stuff, that’s 80% of having a healthy body and mind. I see it in every client I work with too. It’s truly miraculous.
You too can have this level of health, I know you can.
Believe that you can!
