Are you a Do It Yourselfer? Then read this.

I was a Do It Yourselfer.

For a long time (like decades).

Not only with things like fixing the leaky faucet, but I managed a 3 month remodel of my house while living with my new boyfriend (which I don’t recommend – either one that is).

And finally, I was determined to heal on my own, evolve on my own, and finally run my business on my own.

First, I was out to prove I could do it all myself – you know: be strong, capable, and figure it out – all by myself.

Second, I believed asking for help was weak.

Third, asking for help costs money, and I wanted to save money wherever I could.

Underneath all these “reasons” (excuses), I was scared s@#tless to ask for help. “What if they saw how scared I was?” “What if they (the coach or mentor) makes me do things I don’t want to do?” “What if I fail?” “I don’t have the money to pay someone for this.”

My scared girl inside said, “You know Angela, it’s comfortable right here, where you can hide, take the easy route, not deal – it’s comfortable (even though you’re really tired from doing it all yourself and spinning your wheels).”

I listened to her for awhile. I read a lot of books thinking that would tell me how to do it. I watched videos, I talked to friends, I went to lectures. Anything that was free or really cheap, I was IN.

Then I stalled out. I wasn’t making progress, in fact, I felt like sometimes I was going backwards. There’s a great quote by Albert Einstein, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.” That was me.

You might need a big moment of realization (I did), where you know something has to change and you’re not willing to live with (take your pick) anxiety, stress, worry, illness, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, suffocating, unhappy, depression, or your business almost failing anymore. You know it’s time to take bold action.

And that’s what I did – with anxiety I sought out a counselor, with depression and purposelessness I sought out a spiritual teacher, and when my business was dying, I hired a business coach. They’ve been the best investments I’ve ever made.

Awhile ago, I had my first private “VIP Day” with a business coach. I was in tears when I said yes. It was more money then I’d spent in a year on groceries. Was I crazy? Part of me thought I was.

But you know what? It’s what turned my business around. It’s why I’m reaching more people than I dreamed possible. I trusted when I said yes. I trusted in myself and in the law of abundance. When I said yes, I broke through a belief that I wasn’t worthy to spend that kind of money on – those were the tears.

This is what I offer you. When you give yourself permission to say YES to a Retreat Day or 1-on-1 Program with me because you know it’s what you need, there is a clear yes to yourself that you are worth it. This is your first breakthrough.

You don’t have to do it all alone. Having a different perspective, accountability, step by step tools, and permission to be human creates freedom, courage, clarity, and vision (not to mention peace, joy, happiness, and power).
